NATION FROWNS UPON GAY PRIDE PARADE

By Sabelo Majola | 2018-06-21

THE proposed gay parade organised by Rock of Hope Organisation has been met with anger and despair from concerned Emaswati who are against the marketing of homosexuality.

The Rock of Hope, a non-government organisation, has come under a lot of scrutiny for promoting homosexuality in the country and concerned Emaswati want the organisation to stop endorsing sexual attraction to people of one’s own sex.

In an open letter to the organisation, some of concerned Emaswati expressed great despair and requested the organisation to refrain from promoting homosexuality.

The letter speculates that the organisation should be aware that Emaswati will not tolerate the destruction of morality and acceptance of sodomy and they should also be aware that there is no such thing as ‘gay rights’.

“All human rights and fundamental freedoms are enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and cannot be twisted to suit anybody’s agenda hence the organisation should do the right thing and protect the innocence of our children.

“It is with great despair and concern that we as Emaswati have learnt that you intend to parade and promote homosexuality on 30 June, 2018 in Mbabane. Firstly, it is well known that you never disclosed your real agenda when you applied for registration as a non-governmental organisation. You declared yourselves as a health NGO.

You did not tell the truth that you are trying to recruit and promote homosexuality secretly. If you are really a health NGO you would also be raising awareness of the different illnesses that homosexuality causes,” reads part of the letter.

The reasons why Emaswati have a huge problem with the so-called ‘gay pride parade’ as stipulated in the letter are that their children’s morality and innocence are at stake and promoting homosexuality in this manner is very wrong naturally and biblically.

“By carrying out this parade you are plunging the whole country and its leaders into controversy by endorsing the controversial notions of sexual orientation (preference) and gender identity. Research has found that to date there are more than 30 different sexual preferences which include pedophilia (preference of sex with children) and bestiality (preference of sex with animals). You are therefore saying that the people of Eswatini endorse such preferences.

At a time when there are so many cases of rape committed against young children this is highly irresponsible of you,” reads the letter.

Another reason they cited is that there is currently no end to the number of so-called gender identities so it is unknown whether you are talking about LGBT, LGBTI, LGBTQI, LGBTQIP etc.  “Therefore you are amongst those who are sowing endless seeds of confusion amongst the populace of Eswatini, especially our children who are our future. The fact that the alphabet Q is included as an abbreviation for Queer shows that even the people who categorise themselves under such are highly confused and their intention is to confuse others.”
