SOCCER - ESWATINI national team captain Sifiso Matse says their win against Zimbabwe is a start of more good things to come. Matse is one the players who scored a goal in the 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe during the CHAN Qualifiers played at the city of Francistown’s Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Botswana on Sunday.
The other two goals were scored by Junior Magagula. Matse said it had been a while without a win for the national team, mentioning that he was happy for the whole team and the nation as well. The Royal Leopard defensive midfielder said they played well as a team, and they were able to hold their opponents until the end. Appreciated He appreciated his teammates for the hard work and good performance on the day.
“Ours is to pass our appreciation to the coaches and the entire technical bench for trusting us as players that we can represent the country well. “It is our goal to win the tournament and advance to the next stage. We are not doing this for ourselves but for the entire nation," he said. The captain said they were not yet there, but surely they would get there as they take it one game at a time.
He promised that in their next match, they would double their effort. On the other hand, Magagula said he was happy that he was able to score and helped the team to win. “I would like to thank my teammates for helping me score the goals, and we managed to play according to the coaches' instructions although it was not an easy game, but we fought hard. “We promise to come back home with positive results," said Magagula.
