His Majesty King Mswati III has implored Emaswati to continue trusting God in all that they do. He said a nation without God did not have blessings.
The king was preaching during the end-of-year national prayer service held at Mandvulo Grand Hall yesterday. His Majesty said although he had not prepared for the service due to being away, he still felt the need to share scripture after a series of sermons and ministry through songs that had already been delivered by clergymen. The king said he had prayed for divine intervention in this regard. The prayer seemed to have worked in his favour as he delivered a powerful sermon that lasted for about 30 minutes. Otherwise, based on the sermons by other men and women of the cloth, His Majesty said he was convinced that the power of God was resident in Eswatini.
Still, he implored the nation to continue putting their trust in no one else but God as this would see God shower Eswatini with gifts as well. Also, the king said he was blessed when he heard this year’s theme ‘The Power of the blessing on a Nation,” which he said had been well articulated by preachers and singers. Based on the theme, His Majesty said Emaswati should lean not only their own understanding and on earthly solutions to challenges and battles, but to God as there was victory, blessings, and success in Christ.
The king acknowledged that when one was faced with tough situations, they might feel that quick solutions recommended by others who have had almost similar situations before. However, he said each person had to face their own battles and fight them alone. His Majesty said it was up to an individual to make the right choice on how they would respond to the challenges. “Some are meant to bring one closer to God, so be careful who you turn to for help lest you choose the wrong solutions. Do not be failures as some blessings come in the form of tough situations,” he said.
When speaking about earthly solutions to problems, the king said abusing drugs and alcohol was never the answer. Neither was consulting witchdoctors for assistance as he said none of these things would help anyone. Instead, His Majesty said these things had the potential to turn against one who used them. “Come closer to God as Emaswati. Trust in God as all we work for is in heaven,” stated the king. He added that convening for the year-end prayer service was for Emaswati to strengthen their trust in God before this year’s Incwala ceremony and the start of the upcoming New Year.
“I am happy that Emaswati love God and humble themselves before Him. May God continue protecting and blessing Emaswati,” said His Majesty. Further, the king noted that there were countries that were engaged in wars while some were faced with deadly diseases. Like Eswatini, the king prayed for God’s intervention in these countries as he said wars were not the answer to their challenges. “We declare all illnesses, suffering, enemies and poverty to be ambushed by God,” said the king.
