The Eswatini Theatre Club will launch an exciting new series of acting classes next month.
The classes will have award-winning South African actor and director Dr Jerry Mofokeng waMakhetha as one of the key instructors.
The classes are organised by Divine Artists in collaboration with Genesis Ekucaleni and Eswatini Theatre Club.
Dzeli the poet and founder of Divine Artists, shared her excitement with the upcoming classes and the involvement of Dr Mofokeng who starred in Tsotsi ,‘Cry The Beloved Country’ and holds the 7th Royalty Soapie Lifetime Achievement Award.
Thrilled
“We are thrilled to have Dr Jerry Mofokeng waMakhetha join us as a consultant for the acting classes. His wealth of experience and expertise in the acting world will be invaluable not only to our students but also to the drama coaches who will continue to guide the programme after his sessions,” Dzeli said.
She added that the classes would run for three months per intake, with the first week of April marking the official start of the programme.
The programme will be divided into full-time, part-time, and school-specific schedules to accommodate a variety of participants. Full-time students will meet twice a week, while part-time ones and school children will attend on Saturdays.
Emphasised
Dzeli emphasised the importance of attending, as it will feature sessions with the consultant, Dr Mofokeng, who will provide a strong foundation for the rest of the course.
The cost structure for the classes is designed to be accessible, with full-time students paying E4 000, part-time learners E3 000, and school children E300. Dzeli highlighted that payments could be made in installments over the course of the three months, making it easier for participants to join the programme without financial strain.
Dzeli acknowledged the significant support from Genesis Ekucaleni, whose sponsorship has made it possible to bring this initiative to life.
Grateful
“I’m grateful to Genesis Ekucaleni for sponsoring us.
We wouldn’t be able to do this without their support. I also want to thank the Theatre Club for their collaboration in making this a reality,” she said.
