A 43-year-old man has been arrested in Mbabane, Eswatini, and charged with five counts of rape, including the rape of minors.
The suspect, identified by police as a resident of KaMdlolo, is alleged to have committed the crimes in February in the Sidwashini area.
According to Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the arrest followed an intensive and thorough investigation, after multiple rape cases were reported to the Mbabane police.
"The Mbabane CID department has made another breakthrough in arresting a serial rapist who was targeting children under the age of 15," Vilakati stated. The suspect is expected to appear before the Mbabane Magistrate's Court.
This arrest comes shortly after another alleged serial rapist was reported to be terrorizing women in the Mbabane area.
