TAIWAN AI EXPERTS ENCOURAGE SMES TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY

By Nokuzola Thwala | 2025-02-01

A team of experts including those of artificial intelligence (AI) has called for small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) to be technology inclined and equip themselves because the globe is moving towards digitisation.

Led by Pastor Timothy from the Shekinah Bread of life Christian Church based in the Republic of China (Taiwan), they said the integration of technology not only enhances the precision of marketing campaigns, but also allows for real-time feedback and adjustments.

Delegation
This was during their four days’ visit to the country where a delegation of 12 made a visit to Bulembu Challenge Ministries based at Bulembu in the northern Hhohho region with the aim of spending some quality time with the children and caregivers.

They also had a session at the Happy Valley Hotel where classes, which comprised of Al, marketing, entrepreneurship and more, attended by the students of the National Handicraft Training Centre (NHTC), lecturers and Yeshua Church members based in Luyengo took place.

The team leader said as a church, they were also focused on the educational aspect and making sure that everyone was equipped with knowledge in order to have equal opportunities and making use of advanced technology.

Marketing
Meanwhile, AI Innovation Instructor Cori Shieh said business marketing was a multifaceted discipline that encompasses strategies and tactics aimed at identifying, creating and delivering value to customers while fostering strong relationships that drive profitable growth, hence the need for SMEs to be equipped.

In today's fast-paced and competitive environment, she said effective business marketing transcends traditional advertising and sales pitches; it is about understanding customer needs, preferences and behaviours through data-driven insights.

Ultimately, she said successful business marketing was not solely about driving short-term sales, but about establishing long-lasting relationships that contribute to sustainable growth and a positive brand image.

By embracing these principles using AI, she said businesses could navigate the complexities of the modern market and position themselves for long-term success.

Digital
“Digital transformation has revolutionised marketing practices, enabling businesses to leverage tools such as social media, search engine optimisation (SEO), email marketing and content creation to engage target audiences.

The integration of technology not only enhances the precision of marketing campaigns but also allows for real-time feedback and adjustments.

Moreover, marketing today is increasingly focused on building brand loyalty and trust.
Companies must prioritise transparency, authenticity and customer-centric approaches to stand out in the crowded marketplace, innovative strategies, such as personalised marketing and experiential campaigns can create memorable connections and foster business relations,” she said.
