MBALENHLE Manana, the founder and CEO of Top Models Eswatini, has been appointed as the Chief Judge for the 2025 Miss Teen Gaborone Pageant, set to take place at Matwaneng Theatre in Gaborone, Botswana.
The pageant, which aims to foster the development and empowerment of the girl child, will feature 30 finalists.
Mbalenhle expressed her excitement upon receiving the invitation from Peggy Modise, the director of Miss Teen Gaborone.
Invited
"I was thrilled to be invited to serve as the chief judge for Miss Teen Gaborone, though this is not my first time in this role," she shared.
"This opportunity is a significant milestone in my career and reflects my progress in the modelling industry." Mbalenhle, who has previously been a chief judge at events like King Moshoeshoe Fashion Week in Lesotho, said she brought extensive experience and a sharp eye for emerging talent to the role.
She noted that her leadership Top Models Eswatini has deepened her understanding of transformative impact of pageants and modelling platforms.
"Having been involved in the fashion and beauty industry, I bring a wealth of experience in running an agency and grooming young women for local and international pageants," she explained.
Potential
Looking ahead, Manana said she saw the potential for cross-border collaborations between Eswatini and Botswana, which could benefit aspiring models and the fashion industry in both countries. She added, "I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Fashion Without Borders Botswana and have regularly featured models from Botswana at events like The Epic Gig and Eswatini's Biggest Braai," she added.
By leveraging Botswana's strong presence in international pageants, she said she hoped to create more opportunities for Eswatini models to compete on the global stage and gain exposure at prestigious fashion weeks.
