BEAUTY QUEENS VISIT SANDLENI ROYAL KRAAL

By TANELE SIHLONGONYANE | 2025-01-20

A wave of compassion swept through the Sandleni Royal Kraal as Miss Cultural Heritage and Miss Teen embarked on a heartfelt mission of community service over the weekend.

With a shared vision of giving back, the queens joined forces with the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, to engage in a series of impactful activities.

The day began with the queens, armed with paintbrushes and smiles, rehabilitating the royal kraal rondavel. The beauty queens that partook in the activities were Miss Teen Mikaela Rudd, Miss Cultural Heritage Gcinizwi Tsikati, Manzini queen Nonkazimulo Bennett, Hhohho queen Senanile Mwali.

Shiselweni queen Mbali Mashiloane  and Lubombo queen Precious Dlamini.
The queens took on another vital role, that of being providers. They distributed pads to young girls from Sandleni, ensuring that they felt valued and cared for.

The generosity did not stop there as food parcels were handed out to the elderly, bringing warmth and sustenance to those who needed it most.

To end off the day, a spirited social soccer game unfolded between the beauty queens and girls from the community. The beauty queens showcased not only their physical prowess but also their heart, proving that true beauty shines through acts of kindness and community engagement.

Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini reflected on the significance of such initiatives.

“Serving the community is by far one of the most meaningful and important things to engage in,” he noted.

Dlamini added that community service was a pivotal part of any pageantry, highlighting how local beauty pageants empowered participants to embrace and uplift their communities through charitable acts.

He articulated a vision of beauty pageants evolving beyond mere competitions, underscoring the transformative nature of these events.

“What seems to have started out as a competition to highlight a woman's beauty is now more about showcasing a woman's all-round ability to act as a role model in society,” Dlamini said.
He added that the day ended in fun, competitive games that left smiles on those engaged in the activities and the audience.

Dlamini said they hoped to visit again soon, after the experiences and memories made.
