SOCCER - MBABANE Highlanders' challenges might leave the club poorer in personnel as their Manager Simiso 'Space' Jele has joined Botswana side Extension Gunners.
This comes after serving the club for a number of years, beginning at the juniors during the era of Bheki 'Rubber' Simelane.
When Chief Ally Kgomongwe took over the club in 2018, he elevated Jele to the managerial position in the senior team, thus becoming the youngest manager in the Premier League.
Latest news indicate that Jele has now found greener pastures in Botswana after he penned a two-year deal on Monday.
The move comes after the power struggle at Mbabane Highlanders.
Kgomongwe, who is also heavily linked with Extension Gunners for the directorship position, confirmed that Jele had left Eswatini.
"He is now in Botswana. I'm happy for this young man, there's potential in him. I know he will make it there and I have no doubt about that," he said.
The Pretoria-based businessman disclosed that Gunners have added another year on coach Mthunzi Ginindza's contract.
This means he will spend three years at the club. Extension Gunners are one of the clubs that command a huge following in the Botswana FNB Premiership.
The Lobatse-based outfit was formed in 1962.
