The HRH Prince Jongisilo Zanozuko Pokwana ka Menziwa, who is the head of the Royal House at KwaZangashe described the marching of Lusekwane as both a challenging and exciting tradition.
The prince, together with a regiment from his chiefdom, arrived in the country on Friday to participate in the ongoing Incwala ceremony. He had the opportunity to join thousands of Ingaja who marched to cut the sacred shrub, Lusekwane on Sunday.
He said they appreciated taking part in the national event as it reminded them of their tradition and legacy as Emaswati living outside the country’s borders.
“We are very grateful to His Majesty King Mswati III for his support in helping us as the KwaZangashe Chiefdom, revive our culture.
“We are slowly losing our traditions due to the influence of different tribes and mixed opinions arising from politics, but with the help of Eswatini, we are making progress.
“Participating in Lusekwane was a significant experience for us, it was challenging to travel such a distance on foot, and being amidst so many people presented its difficulties, but it was a learning and exciting experience for us," he said.

The prince also shared that they had intended to bring a larger contingent of Libutfo from KwaZangashe, but due to unforeseen issues on the last day, they could not.
He mentioned that His Majesty the King had invited them to future events.
“I would like to thank His Majesty King Mswati III for inviting us to participate in other national events. We did bring about 50 maidens for the Umhlanga ceremony. We have also been invited to the Buganu Ceremony,” he added.
The Prince promised that they would organise better for future events and hope to bring at least 50 members of the regiment for the next Incwala ceremony.
