By JONGILE XUBA | 2024-11-22

SOCCER - MAJOR coup!
Former South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) Head of Technical Simon Ngomane has joined Nsingizini Hotspurs as the club's Technical Director.

This was announced by Nsingizini Hotspurs CEO Banele Ngobe, who said Ngomane’s appointment ‘came at the right time’ for the club.

“We are delighted to welcome Ngomane as we implement changes that we believe are necessary for the club as we go into the future.

We strongly believe that we have appointed the right person for the position as he is someone who has really worked at all stages of football,” he said. Ngobe said Ngomane would have the responsibility of advising on all technical operations and developing the strategy for the senior team, and youth development.

“His role will help with maintaining the link between the youth development and the first team and ensure that they are aligned with Nsingizini values, ethics and traditions.

He will be the custodian of Insingizi Yezulu culture and preserve our football philosophy so that the transition from youth to the senior level is seamless.” He said Ngomane has had the opportunity to assess the team when they played against Richards Bay during the FIFA break.

The match was played in South Africa where Nsingizini Hotspurs lost 0-3.
“As a firm believer in modern football trends, Ngomane’s new position will also provide insights in what is happening internationally to ensure that we are not left behind when it comes to modern trends as football continues to evolve and has become much more scientific.

Other responsibilities he will have will include upskilling, mentoring and training our coaches”, the statement continued. “We want to make progress in the way we run our football technical operations at all levels,” said Ngobe.

He said it was important that they kept the Nsingizini Hotspurs DNA intact and uniformity to ensure they hired the right people who would be the custodians of what they were building.

“We look forward to Ngomane’s contribution within the Nsingizini Hotspurs set-up. We believe he will work well with all the coaches from senior to junior levels and members of the technical team as we continue to build the club and maintain its position in Eswatini football and growth in Africa,” Ngobe said.

He encouraged all the team’s stakeholders to welcome Ngomane and give him all the support.
