SOUTH African gospel musician Thinah Zugu was honoured to meet His Majesty King Mswati III for the first time.
Zungu said he officially met the King and shared conversations with him after a dinner held on Monday evening after his performance at the end-of-year national prayer service held at Mandvulo Grand Hall.
“I felt very honoured meeting the King.
It was my first time meeting him in person, being in a palace and experiencing the presence of their majesties.
This was a very meaningful moment for me in the country after I have been coming to Eswatini a number of times since 2014,” said the musician.
He stated that being in the presence of His Majesty, conversing with him, seeing the king enjoy his song where he features his son and even receiving an invitation to come back with his son was a highlight that he would forever cherish.
“I will definitely be returning with my son, although I am not sure when the King invited me to come back for a similar service. I would like to go back to the palace to continue with the great experience that had,” said Zungu.
He further said he had thoroughly enjoyed performing before Their Majesties and seeing that His Majesty enjoys and loves his music as he was able to request one of his songs.
Zungu said being the artist chosen amongst so many other gospel singers to deliver a performance for Their Majesties and honourable dignitaries was an honour and highlight of his career.
“It was also inspiring and humbling to see the love the King has for the nation and his love for God. I have always known Eswatini to be a nation that believes in God but also experiencing that from the king and ministers was impressive.
Being with everyone in worship and praise on that day blew me away,” added Zungu.
Zungu shared his experience with the King and a picture with His Majesty on his socials, to share his excitement
