BULL SET TO APPOINT NEW HEAD COACH

By MELUSI MLOTSA | 2024-05-30

SOCCER - CAPITAL city giants Mbabane Highlanders are set to appoint a new head coach ahead of the 2024/25 football season.

This comes after it emerged that the current head coach, Milton ‘Spanish’ Dlamini does not possess the CAF A Coaching License despite having stints with several clubs in South Africa such as Platinum Stars, Baroka, Free Sate Stars, Thanda Royal Zulu and Mbombela United, among others.

Dlamini joined the capital city giants towards the end of the past season from Denver Sundowns.
Reports suggest that the coach will now be a technical director at the club.

His duties will be to oversee the senior, juniors and women teams.
Highlanders Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Dlamini said he was yet to learn about the latest developments.

“Nothing has reached my office regarding the issue. What I know is that Milton is still in charge until our managing director says otherwise,” he said.

The crowd-pulling side recently enlisted the services of legends Sipho ‘Shilton’ Dube and Sifiso ‘Barnes’ Mkhulisi in their technical bench.

Mbabane Highlanders are also in line to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup after applying for the slot from the Premier League of Eswatini.

It was in September 2022 when the team last participated in the continental tournament.
They were knocked out 0-2 by Royal AM at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
