Bongani 4th, Lungelo 82nd

SOCCER - THINGS are not so wonderful for hub giants Manzini Wanderers after they suffered their sixth league defeat in the hands of defending champions Royal Leopard.

The ailing crowd pullers were handed a 0-2 beating by the police service side at King Sobhuza II Stadium as they remain rooted at the bottom of the table with a single point after seven matches.

The encounter saw new signing Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkhambule being deployed at an unfamiliar role in the left-back position.

The police side hit the ground running following an early goal in the fourth minute through Bongani Dlamini.
Chances were few after the goal until in the 28th minute when ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule’s attempt went wide.

Experienced Royal Leopard goalkeeper Ncamiso ‘Mbhonyo’ Dlamini was called to action a couple of minutes later and was alert to the danger, keeping out Fabrice Mopina’s effort from close range.

The score was 1-0 at interval in favour of the Edwin Matsebula-led troops.
The police side created an opportunity when Bongani Ndzimandze’s effort was tamed by Bongiswa Dlamini between the Wanderers goals.

The hub giants went close to get an equalizer midway into the last stanza when Etwe Djo fluffed an opportunity.

Royal Leopard wrapped up the match in 82 minutes through Lungelo Tsabedze, who scored from what looked like an offside position.

Ultimately, the score was 2-0, thus putting more pressure to Wanderers who are yet to record victory this season.
