Soccer - Mbabane Highlanders have distanced themselves from Mbabane Swallows midfielder Leon Manyisa. This follows the recent fabricated links of the club to the player which saw Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Paul ‘Magidza’ Masilela being falsely accused of attempting to poach the player. The matter was, however, amicably resolved by the two parties earlier this week. Highlanders Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe said they have no interest in signing the ex-Manzini Wanderers player. “We are not interested in Manyisa. He is not part of our plans and he won’t play for Highlanders as long as I am in charge of the team. We would like to warn those people who are poaching the player pretending to be one of our officials to stop their habit because we do not want that particular player,” he said. Kgomongwe further stated that they have a recruiting panel within their structure. “We never task supporters to recruit players, instead we have an internal way of recruiting players which is handled by the appropriate body within the organisation,” he added. He went on to mention that they were in the process of recruiting a new goalkeeper coach for the club since the departure of Sipho 'Shilton' Dube to Sihlangu Semnikati. “We are still looking for the best candidate for the position both in Eswatini and South Africa. We hope to conclude the entire exercise before our next MTN Premier League match,” he said.
