ANOTHER deputy prime minister’s office senior official is reported to have ditched his wife, impregnated and moved in with a minor.
A minor in terms of the law is anyone below the age of 18, who is regarded not fit enough to consent on a sexual relationship.
The news of the senior official deserting his wife for a minor comes days after another high ranking officer in the DPMO was reported to have sexually harassed female members of staff and is also accused of victimisation.
Police are reported to have opened a file which may see the senior official charged or arrested in relation to these allegations, which are confirmed by several other staff members who have already recorded statements with the police.
As a result of the alleged sexual relationship, the female pupil is reported to have dropped out of school after falling pregnant.
Information gathered is that when the two fell in love the girl was only about 17 years old. It is alleged that the senior officer did not dump the girl after she fell pregnant but continued with the relationship.
This is alleged to have caused his marriage to be on the rocks.
Information gathered by this publication is to the effect that the senior officer is still staying with the young girl.
What is ironic about the two incidents is that the DPMO is the custodian of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act of 2018 and also the Children’s Protection and Welfare Act of 2012.
In fact, one would assume none of such cases would be associated with senior officials of the office because they are custodians of the law.
Efforts to get hold of the official proved futile as he could not respond to our calls or pick up his phone.
