Due to the high volumes of nominees at the Swaziland Revenue Authority (SRA) offices seeking tax clearances certificates, the Elections and Boundaries Commission, in collaboration with the SRA, has once again seen it fit to extend the date for submission.
The submission of the tax clearances certificates has now been extended to end of business today so that everyone is catered for.
This is the second extension of the submission by EBC as the initial extension was on Wednesday and the EBC said that had been necessitated by the high volume of nominees who required the tax clearances.
“Should nominees have difficulties in acquiring the tax clearance, they must feel free to consult the commission as soon as possible for assistance.
“The tax clearance is a requirement for all nominees, whether you have been nominated for Bucopho, Member of Parliament, and Indvuna Yenkhundla. The Commissioner General of Eswatini Revenue Authority Dumisani Masilela assured that the staff has been complimented to expedite the process,” said a statement issued by EBC Chairman Chief Gija yesterday.
Long queues have been witnessed in almost all the tax offices designated to assist the nominees.
