SOCCER - MATSAPHA United have welcomed South African Peter Mabaso back from injury that has put him on the sidelines for over two weeks.

Mabaso missed the team’s crucial clashes against Royal Leopard, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows. The team is also banking on a late fitness test on SA’s Mthobisi Mngomezulu, who sustained a knee injury during their clash against Leopard.

Matsapha United CEO Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini confirmed Mabaso’s recovery, ahead of the team’s Ingwenyama Cup tournament clash against Milling Hotspurs tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium.  “We have a full squad except for Mngomezulu and Msimisi Ncanywa, who are still nursing injuries.

We will be very cautious going to the clash against Milling because they are a formidable side campaigning in the second tier. They are a closed book to us, hence we won’t undermine them, especially because this is a knockout tournament.

We will, however, maintain our entertaining football to give supporters their money’s worth,” he said.

Dlamini invited fans to come in their numbers clad in the team’s colours but warned them against unbecoming behaviour because it is the team that gets to pay the hefty fines for misconduct.
