Nomalungelo Dladla, a celebrated songbird and entrepreneur, proudly represented Eswatini on a global stage by attending the prestigious Forbes Leading Women Summit.
Held yesterday, at Sun Bet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria, South Africa, this tenth milestone edition of the summit gathered some of the world’s most inspiring women to tackle critical issues and celebrate female leadership across various sectors.
The Forbes Leading Women Summit, recognised as a beacon of empowerment, is an annual event that coincides with the celebration of International Women's Day on March 8.
Since its inception, the summit has become a powerful platform for honouring women’s achievements and resilience across the African continent and the globe.
This year, themed ‘To The Power of 10: The Rule-Breakers in Africa’s Next Chapter’, the event brought together African and international visionaries from diverse fields, including business, arts, technology, sports, and government.
Dladla attended the summit not only as an artist but also as an entrepreneur and a proud member of the Kwakitsi Foundation, an organisation that champions social and economic empowerment.
Her presence at the event highlighted her multifaceted talents and her commitment to making an impact both as a creative and as a business woman.
Expressing her excitement about the opportunity, Dladla shared how the summit served as a platform for her to connect with like-minded women who were breaking barriers across industries.
“Being part of this summit was incredibly inspiring. It’s a reminder that women from all walks of life are rewriting the narrative and shaping Africa’s future,” Dladla remarked.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Forbes Leading Women Summit has become a cornerstone event for fostering Afro-optimism a bold and hopeful outlook on Africa’s rising power and potential in a rapidly changing world.
Over the years, the summit has featured iconic leaders and luminaries, including: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former president of Liberia, Naomi Campbell, legendary supermodel, Dr. Naledi Pandor, former South African minister, Amina J. Mohammed, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Desiree Ellis, head coach of Banyana Banyana, Mo Abudu, Nigerian media mogul, Tyla, Grammy Award-winning artist, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, model, businesswoman, and media personality. This year’s edition was no exception, featuring fireside chats, robust panel discussions, one-on-one sessions, and powerful spotlight segments, all designed to inspire and connect leaders across various disciplines.
The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer, Stanley Dlamini said Dladla’s participation at the summit shined a spotlight on Eswatini’s significant contributions to the African creative and economic landscape.
