TOTALENERGIES UNVEILS FLAGSHIP SERVICE STATION IN MBABANE

By NOMFANELO MAZIYA | 2024-12-30

TotalEnergies has recently undertaken a significant upgrade to its service station in Mbabane, with a strong focus on enhancing customer experience and convenience.

The state-of-the-art facility at the TotalEnergies fuel station located below the Hilton Garden Inn is designed to seamlessly integrate with the hotel, catering to the needs of both hotel guests and the broader public.

The revamped facility now boasts a wider range of offerings, mirroring the model seen in South Africa, where service stations often incorporate various quick-service restaurants.

This is according to TotalEnergies Territory Manager Sentelwe Mngometulu.
"TotalEnergies is now a bigger site with Mug & Bean as part of the totalenergies.

It's like what you normally find in South Africa,  different quick service restaurants to form part of the service station as well as a Car Wash," said Mngometulu.

This expansion of services aims to create a one-stop shop for customers, allowing them to fill up their vehicles, wash their cars, and grab a quick bite all in one location.

The renovations did not result in significant job losses.
Employees who were temporarily displaced during the upgrade were absorbed by other TotalEnergies filling stations across the country.

As the Mbabane station reopened, a majority of the original staff returned to their positions.
The company did, however, hire additional staff to accommodate the expanded services and increased customer traffic at the larger facility.

This upgrade exemplifies TotalEnergies' commitment to providing a comprehensive and convenient experience for its customers in Eswatini.

TotalEnergies Managing Director Nalini Neicker, announced that construction resumed early January.

She emphasised that this project would serve as the company's flagship in Eswatini, featuring a unique design distinct from other service stations.

Neicker further assured that all necessary city protocols regarding infrastructure development had been adhered to.

The garage had been temporarily closed for close to two years while these behind-the-scenes preparations had been underway.

"I am excited to reveal that the project will result in a state-of-the-art structure equipped with all the necessary facilities for both the public and hotel guests," Neicker stated.

Looking ahead, Neicker highlighted TotalEnergies' strong commitment to partnering with the Eswatini government to drive economic development.  She emphasised the company's close collaboration with dealers within the petroleum sector.

Furthermore, TotalEnergies plans to expand its network with the construction of two new service stations in Motshane and Siphofaneni.

"We are enthusiastic about these new developments," Neicker stated, highlighting that it was in alignment with the company's overarching goal of contributing to Eswatini's economic growth while empowering both local dealers and the communities where we establish our infrastructure.

She further highlighted that TotalEnergies had invested over E50 million in Eswatini, focusing on infrastructure development and demonstrating its commitment to the country's economic growth.
