INGWENYAMA Cup Chairman Prince Hlangabeza has called for violence-free games and urged teams to accept match results with dignity.
With the much-anticipated Ingwenyama Cup final set to take place at the Somhlolo Stadium, the tournament chairman made this statement during the kit presentation ceremony at Nkhanini in Lobamba yesterday. He emphasised the importance of sportsmanship and encouraged the losing side to respect the outcome of the game.
Prince Hlangabeza made a heartfelt appeal for a peaceful final, reminding Emaswati of their long-standing reputation for respect and good behaviour.
"As a nation, we are known for our discipline and respect. We must continue with this same spirit, both on and off the field," he said.
The Ingwenyama Cup, one of the country’s most prestigious soccer tournaments, has attracted significant attention throughout the competition, culminating in what promises to be an electrifying final. With emotions running high, Prince Hlangabeza's message serves as a reminder that sportsmanship must remain a top priority.
Meanwhile, Sincephetelo MVA Fund (SMVAF) Chief Executive Officer David Myeni expressed gratitude to all those who played a role in ensuring the tournament’s success. He particularly thanked the fans for their attentiveness to SMVAF's safety messages throughout the tournament.
"I want to thank Emaswati for paying close attention to the safety messages shared during tournament games. This is a crucial step in ensuring that safety remains a priority for everyone," he said.
