EFA ISSUES ‘LOGA’ SHOW-CAUSE NOTICE

By MELUSI MLOTSA | 2024-12-12

SOCCER - IS the honeymoon over?
Embattled Sihlangu Semnikati head coach Logarusic Zdravko may be shown the exit door in the not-so-distant future.

This comes after the Croatia-born mentor absented himself from work without official leave (AWOL) before the 2025 TotalEnergies AFCON Qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau recently. This was amid reports that he demanded E60 000 travelling allowance.

Insiders within the national team have disclosed that the Eswatini Football Association Chief Executive Officer Frederick Mngomezulu wrote a letter to the coach a week ago, telling him to show cause why they must not suspend him following his alleged misconduct.

“The football mother body is not happy with the coach's behaviour, hence he is likely to face the axe. But it will depend on what the Executive meeting scheduled for this weekdecides,” said the source.

The source said the coach was also expected to respond in writing and explain his act.
“Let us wait and see what the coach will say in his letter of response. Otherwise, EFA is not happy with the coach’s behaviour where he shunned the national team’s two games.”

EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said he was not privy to information on the issue.

“Contractual issues are between employer and employee, so I am not privy to such information. It is the coach who can be in a better position to shed some light regarding the issue,” he said.
The coach could not be reached for comment as his cellphone rang unanswered.

Meanwhile, Logarusic has been seen during MTN Premier League matches, especially at Mavuso Sports Centre.

The ex-Zimbabwean gaffer is still enjoying benefits from the EFA such as the car, house, DStv subscription and a monthly salary.

Eswatini is on the verge of qualifying for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) to be staged in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania between February 1-18.

The nation’s pride hosts Madagascar on December 21, before the second leg a few days after.
Qualified nations will contest for the coveted $2 million.
