SOCCER - He is back!
Sihlangu head coach Logarusic Zdravko has resurfaced after being reportedly absent without official leave (AWOL).
The Croatian-born mentor, who last attended Sihlangu’s training two weeks ago in the build-up to their match against Guinea Bissau, was seen watching MTN Premier League games at Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday.
The coach did not travel with the team to Mbombela Stadium where they played a 1-1 draw with Guinea Bissau.
He was also not present when the nation’s pride lost 0-6 Mali in the AFCON Qualifiers.
This resulted in assistant coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane leading the squad in both games.
The ex-Zimbabwe coach has reportedly demanded a E60 000 travelling allowance from the football motherbody which resulted in his absence.
Eswatini Football Association Media Officer Muzi Radebe said Logarusic remained the national team head coach.
Even though he did not make it clear whether the coach was back, Radebe said Logarusic was doing his duties as expected of him.
“Despite what happened, nothing has changed, he is the head coach. So he is back to his normal routine. If there are any changes, the office will gladly communicate them to the media. We are certain he will continue working for nation’s pride with commitment,” he said.
