‘TEN TEN’ GININDZA PASSES ON

By NOMALUNGELO PHIRI | 2024-11-06

SOCCER - A dark cloud is hovering over capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders after their legend and businessman Innocent ‘Ten Ten’ Ginindza passed on.

Ginindza passed away after succumbing to an undisclosed sickness in hospital yesterday morning.

His younger sister confirmed the sad news, saying she could not delve into detail.

“I can only confirm that my brother is no more, we are still going to meet as a family to discuss the matter,” she said.

Another source close to the matter said Ginindza had been sick for some time.

“I went to check him in hospital the other time, and little did I know that I was seeing him for the last time.” He said he heard the sad news yesterday morning that ‘Ten Ten’ was no more.

“May his soul rest in peace. We will forever remember him.”

'Ten Ten', as he was affectionately known, played for Highlanders around the late 80s alongside the late legends Thulani ‘Mau Mau’ Dlamini and Gebi ‘Zico’ Zwane, who both passed on last year; he then stopped playing for Highlanders in 1995.

His business partner and friend Musa Magongo said it was hard to believe that Ginindza was no more and declined to give comment, saying the issue was sensitive and he would wait for an official statement from the family. “It is too early to comment, let’s wait for the family to say something,” he said.
