EVENT organiser and spinner DJ 1D proved to be the king of collaborations as he infused hip-hop and kwaito artists as well as local models for his ‘The Undisputed Champ’ live concert.
This was during his album launch and live concert held on Friday at the George Hotel. 1D wowed the audience with his powerful tracks at the charged venue.
The live concert comprised of a talented ensemble of six local artists who came together to create magical moments filled with powerful and soul-stirring musical experiences.
Despite the event starting two hours later, it demonstrated a celebration of musical diversity as it featured acclaimed artists and models who took the night to new heights and captured the hearts of the audience.
The event was supported by industry giants, including the likes of DJ Zulu D, Knoxman, the Xchange Lounge and Shisanyama’s Mxolisi ‘Waxola’ Mabuza, just to name a few. The man of the night DJ 1D conveyed his gratitude to those who supported him.
He said the unwavering support and love he received from his industry friends and the audience at large made the event more special. The live concert was a colourful tapestry which catered for a wide range of musical tastes.
The event, which saw a handful of people in attendance with the event’s performances catered with influences ranging from traditional kwaito to hip-hop. One of the models, Sethu said she had a wonderful time entertaining the audience.
“I love what I do and being able to showcase what I can do was one of the highlights for the night as all eyes were glued on me,” she said. Attendees also expressed their excitement in being part of the amazing show, sharing that they had a beautiful and memorable night.
Attendee Linda Dlamini said the show was filled with a lot of memorable performances. “I absolutely had an amazing time, the event was well organised and we were thoroughly entertained by the musicians who filled the stage and delivered a high energy performance.
The models were a cherry on top as they kept me mesmerised the whole time,” he said. delivered Performances were delivered by artists, including Mozaik, Diba Diba, KrTC, Anakhonza, Nongoloza, Lution, Jurie and M Triggerson who 1D had featured in his 12-track album.
As soon as the song titled Gijima Mfana featuring Crax, Umuti, KrTC, M Triggerson and Jurie was performed, the crowd was sent into a frenzy as the hall was charged with the performers jumping up and down the stage and the audience hyping up the performers.
Excitement filled the air as the Gijima Mfana track seemed to be the crowd’s favourite. 1D further delivered more of his tracks, much to the crowd’s enjoyment.
