KRTC OPENS UP ON LANDO’S ‘LIVING WITH PURPOSE’ PODCAST

By Siyabonga Nsibande | 2024-06-24

MEDIA practitioner Landokuhle Dlamini recently hosted Thamsanqa ‘KrTC’ Sibandze on her ‘Living with Purpose’ podcast.

The episode titled ‘Healing through Accountability’ saw KrTC open up and was vulnerable for the audience as he shared different aspects of his life.

Lando, as she is affectionately known, started her podcast at the beginning of the year, and primarily focuses on hosting guests across an array of industries, selecting those who have impacted the country through their work.

She further holds discussions around Christianity and faith, highlighting God’s grace through the lives of her guests.

“The ‘Living in Purpose’ podcast is a platform where we have real and Godly conversations with phenomenal people excelling and displaying God's glory in various industries, marketplace and the Christian fraternity. We're all about kingdom mandate and the great commission,” Dlamini explained.

While talking about his upbringing and spiritual journey, KrTC shared a personal story which he had been keeping private.

Throughout this podcast episode, KrTC spoke on becoming aware of the fact that he had been raising a daughter whom he believed to be his.

He found out this anomaly through  a DNA test, which revealed the heart-breaking information.

“Sometimes we pray these dangerous prayers. For me, that dangerous prayer was establishing the situation I was in, and asking God to remove anything that was weighing me down,” he said.

“One of the outcomes of that was a situation that required me to go and do, after 10 years of present parenting, a DNA test,” KrTC explained.  KrTC handed over the test results to Lando before explaining the revelation that the 10-year-old was in fact not his biological child.

“A certain series of events put me in a position where I had to do the DNA test,” KrTC went on.  Lando proceeded to read the DNA test results loud, which confirmed that KrTC was not the biological father of the 10-year-old girl he had been raising.

KrTC went on to say: “so after 10 years of physical, emotional, spiritual investment, I find out that there is zero probability of paternity of the child that I have called my daughter.”

That is the moment that has resulted in trending conversations across various social media platforms, with some sympathising with the rapper and life coach. “This is so impactful. So much wisdom and revelations. This was so good,” commented YouTube subscriber Wakhiwe Dlamini.

“Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. KrTC, thank you for being full of life, and speaking life to us. Lando, you are an excellent vessel. Thank you for your surrender,” Saneliswa Magagula  commented.

KrTC further expressed that in that moment of revelation, he felt a range of emotions, making him question how this happened and why him.

“In that moment, I am angry, I am broken and I am shattered, asking God how can you allow this to happen to me,” he said.

KrTC questioned his faith because he stood by the mother who claimed to have birthed his daughter, feeling confused as to how he ended up in the paternity situation after sacrificing so much to raise the young girl.   “I’ve heard about this so many times, and you have seen me make so many sacrifices. You’ve seen me rise and fall with this child, and all along, I was carrying a burden that I didn’t have to,” he went on to say. The pair then went on to speak about the different roles and intentions that women and men have to play as parents, discussing various reasons for KrTC’s feelings, reactions in relation to societal behaviour.

They spoke on the differences between the way men and women are handled in terms of  managing emotional traumas and healing.

Lando apologised to KrTC for his situation and also acknowledged the role that women play in damaging or hurting men through the lack of accountability and emotional recognition in similar situations.

“I am so sorry. What I find interesting is that we never talk about men’s trauma. For me, I felt entitled to my trauma, and so many women are so vocal about their trauma.

When I see a man, you’re supposed to be macho because society says ‘men don’t cry, chin up soldier, and then we don’t actually take the time to acknowledge the traumas that are being inflicted on men,” she said.

“For me, what you just told me, makes me want to check myself real quick because we are inflicting these traumas on you guys without actually acknowledging it,” she added.

The episode has since gathered over 3 400 views and reactions in just six days with it becoming a viral topic amongst communities, mostly through social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
