By SIMON SHABANGU and PHEPHILE MOTAU | 2024-04-15

HIS Majesty King Mswati III jetted out of the country last evening to the Republic of South Africa for a private meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The King left through the King Mswati III International in the company of Inkhosikati LaNkambule. The meeting between the two heads of state will be a follow-up to the meeting they had earlier this month.

This is according to a statement by the presidency, which states that President Ramaphosa will today host His Majesty, for a working visit at Mahlamba Ndlopfu, the president’s official residence, in Pretoria.

It states that this follows a courtesy visit by the president to the king, in Lozitha on April 3, 2024. The presidency said South Africa and Eswatini shares strong historical bonds as well as mutually beneficial political and trade ties.

In the statement during President Ramaphosa’s visit to the country, it was stated that on arrival in the Kingdom of Eswatini, he first paid a brief visit to the Queen Mother, Her Majesty the indlovukazi, before proceeding to meet with His Majesty.

It was further stated that the two leaders affirmed their commitment to strong historical bonds between their two countries, including growing political and trade ties.

They also highlighted the historical success of collaboration between the two countries, where the two leaders worked together for a better future.
