MILTON NEW HIGHLANDERS COACH

By SIPHOSETHU DLAMINI | 2024-03-29

SOCCER - CAPITAL city side Mbabane Highlanders have announced the appointment of Milton Dlamini as the new head coach, effective immediately.

The restructuring of the technical team sees Dlamini taking over the coaching reigns of the senior team from coach Dumisani ‘DU’ Makhanya, who will now be the assistant coach, together with Siyabonga Bhembe (physical trainer).

The latest developments were confirmed by Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe yesterday.

“We would like to congratulate Dlamini and thank him for accepting this huge responsibility.
We know it’s not an easy task, but we believe his experience and knowledge will help us improve and achieve our goals as Mbabane Highlanders,” said Kgomongwe.

Prior to this appointment, Dlamini had just left Denver Sundowns, where he was the head coach.
He has a wealth of experience in coaching at the highest level, including a spell as head coach of a number of South African teams.

“We look forward to Dlamini sharing his experience and ensuring that there is stability in the team, while we improve our performance. We will provide him with all the support he needs in this new role.”

He said Dlamini had been given a contract until the end of the season.
“We just expect the new coach to win us some games and show us that he is capable to lead this big brand. We will then extend his contract at the end of the season if we are happy with his contribution,” said Kgomongwe.

Coach Dlamini accepted the challenge by saying: “I fully accept this huge responsibility that has been bestowed on me with humility and respect.

I thank them for their confidence and belief in me to become the captain of the ship. I look forward to working with everyone involved in the technical team to bring joy to Mbabane Highlanders supporters.”
