NOTHANDO DLAMINI CLAIMS HER STARDOM

By Simon Shabangu | 2021-02-16

NEWCOMER in the gospel music industry, Nothando Dlamini has achieved a milestone by hitting 10 000 views on YouTube in 30 days.

The Mbabane Alliance Church Praise Team member recently released a single titled ‘Wangihlawulela’ which was recorded live at Ellijah Mango College in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

The song was registered on YouTube by TuneCore on behalf of the artist. It was recorded during the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Mega Fest.

The single seems to have taken gospel music lovers by storm as it has managed to reach so many views within a short space of time something which many gospel artists struggle to achieve in a year.

The song was featured last month on various media platforms and attracted a huge following from South Africa spreading over to Eswatini.

Nothando Dlamini, who is also a member of the Mandvulo Praise Team said “it can only be God” as she struggled to explain the positive response she has achieved despite that this was her first recording. she was at a loss for words as this was her very first project to be recorded and did not expect such support from gospel music lovers across the globe.

She said she can only thank God for this achievement, noting that she cannot claim to have pushed to gain such a huge recognition.

She said the team which was working behind the scenes has also done a tremendous job in ensuring that the song reaches all the media platforms and be where it is today.

“I would also like to thank my family and the church especially our Pastor JV Mazibuko for support and encouragement to do the recording.

He has been encouraging me for many years but I guess all things happen in God’s timing.

The church has been a number one supporter and motivator to eventually do this,” she said. Dlamini said she was grateful to God for the talent and also the gift of being able to compose songs.

She said she personally composed this song which is now making waves in many parts of the country and in South Africa.

“I want to pass my greatest appreciation to South African Gospel Artist Sylvester Mamize from Mpumalanga who pushed me to do this song which was eventually recorded during one of the shows in Mpumalanga,” she said.

Mamize identified her during his visit to promote his own work at their church.

He was God sent, from admiring the talent and encouraging her to record, went on to ensure that he organised the recording which eventually happened.

Asked if she will be working on a full album, Nothando said there is huge demand for a full album stating that she has already finished writing the songs and now awaits the perfect time which will probably be after the pandemic.

“God willing we will record and release a full album soon because there is a huge appetite out there following the success of this single which is featured in huge platforms like Ligwalagwala FM, Voice of Hope and many other channels.

Local media is also giving us huge support on this project and we are very grateful for the love and support,” she said.

She said her talent in music ministry emerged at a tender age when she used to sing at gatherings from childhood with her mother back in Dvokodvweni, her parental home.
