By Phetsile Mamba | 2020-11-26

IT’S sponsorship galore for the Lockdown Gospel Music Awards.

This comes after Luphohlo Commodities sponsored the awards with E10 000.

This amount will go towards the Luphohlo Commodities Life Time Achievement Award.

Presenting the sponsorship was the entity’s Chairman Nathi Van Zuydam during a media briefing at Sidwashini.

He  said  he would like to commend the awards committee’s hard work and effort in ensuring that the awards become a success.

“We have seen companies providing their support in various forms. This encouraged us to also contribute towards the awards. The more we support each other across various industries, the more we contribute to inclusive economic growth. Our contribution as Luphohlo Commodities will be in sponsoring one category of the awards; which will be the Luphohlo Commodities Life Time Achievement Award,” Van Zuydam said.

He  said this was a very important award, as it symbolises an artist or a group that has greatly contributed towards shaping the industry to where it is today.

Therefore, they deserve to be recognised for their efforts.

The awards will be held at Woodlands, Ezulwini on Saturday.

Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini President Phetsile Masilela spoke behalf of the association and   said they were grateful for the support they were getting from the company because this was a way of appreciating local talent an helping them to rebuild their art after the lockdown.

“Thank you for coming on board, knowing very well that the awards are close, but you still found it important to invest in the association on the Life Time achievement category,” Masilela said.

She urged artists to be consistent in their work.

Masilela also revealed that hosts of the awards will be John Pires and Nontobeko Ndzabukelwako, popularly known as Ntobi the Poet.

The awards will be headlined by some of the nominees.
