SOCCER – CAPITAL city side’s veteran winger Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko believes new signee Leon Manyisa could be the ideal signing as they aim to be competitive in all competitions.
The former Vovovo youngster will start playing for Swallows next season after signing a one-year contract with the beautiful Birds.
This has put to an end to the much speculation surrounding the player’s future, with some of the biggest teams, including Mbabane Highlanders and Manzini Wanderers having been linked with the 20-year-old’s services.
Nhleko said he believed the youngster would add even more quality to the Swallows squad.
“I think Leon is a good signing for the team. Fine, he is a youngster but I believe he has what it takes to make it in the team.”
“Manyisa is a very good and talented young player, who still has dreams to achieve in his football career. He is a complete player, he has a lot of energy to demonstrate his skills and I believe he will flourish at a team like Swallows.”
‘Samba Jive’ said the youngster just needed to keep his head level and focus on playing football.
“He is yet to learn a lot of things and needs proper guidance. He needs to listen to the coaches and work hard.”
He said the player must be patient and not put himself under unnecessary pressure due to his much publicised move to the team. “He should not be discouraged when things do not go according to expectations. Fans have a tendency of expecting too much at times and as players we have to be patient with them.”
He then wished Manyisa all the best as he takes a new journey in his football career
“I hope he grows from strength to strength because he’s a quality player. He will definitely add something to Swallows.” Meanwhile, the capital city giants have already made their intentions known, that they intend bolstering their squad in order to compete effectively.
The team is currently occupying the second spot in the MTN Premier League log table, behind leaders Young Buffaloes.
The ‘Beautiful Birds’ will take on Correctional Services side Green Mamba in the quarter-finals of the EswatiniBank Cup.
