POLICE WANT ZWELI MARTIN DLAMINI

By Ackel Zwane | 2020-04-11

In a space of a month of crossing paths with the police, Zweli Martin Dlamini is now on police radar for an undisclosed misdemeanor.

Even the last time he reported to the police headquarters in Mbabane, police said he was assisting them with a particular undisclosed matter.

It is the same thing this time around as police would not give details or specify the charges he might face. Police Information and  Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati warned that if there could be any person residing or knowing the whereabouts of Dlamini but concealing that information, that person might be inviting trouble for themselves.  She said anyone with information must contact Sam Mthembu at 7606 2316; Clement Sihlongonyane at 7612 7994 or Madlopha at 7605 7428; or the toll free emergency line 999.

This happens at a time when Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini has issued a stern warning to those peddling false information, especially about the killer virus going to the extent of saying, “police are already investigating a number of people for spreading misinformation on the COVID-19 scourge.”

Early February, the Swaziland News editor was arrested by Lobamba Police for contempt of court in a dispute he has with relatives.

He had been due to appear before Magistrate Simo Simelane on assault charges, in that the 36-year-old Dlamini of LaMgabhi area allegedly threatened to shoot and kill Gedleza Alfred Maseko, thus committing the offence of assault common. The incident occurred at LaMgabhi community.

Maseko is the acting indvuna of LaMgabhi, Etiyeni area.

According to information gathered, Dlamini is allegedly embroiled in a land dispute with the LaMgabhi Royal Kraal after it was discovered that he appropriated himself and a relative land without the approval of the umphakatsi.
