SOCCER - Manzini Wanderers players have reportedly received half payment for their October salaries due to the financial instability currently faced by the hub giants.
A source close to the matter revealed that the players received the monies on Thursday without a proper explanation about the reduced pay.
“The players and coaches got half of their monies on Thursday afternoon without being notified about the new developments since they were expecting full pay as per the norm. They are still waiting to hear from the Management Committee as to what has led to the half pay after they were not told anything about the financial situation of the team,” the source said.
The team’s Public Relations Officer Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini declined to commit himself on the matter when reached for comment.
“This is a private issue between an employer and employee and is not for public consumption,” he said. The maroon and white ensemble will today hold an elective meeting for the national supporters committee at the Manzini Library where several issues would be discussed.
