The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’Bulunga has urged Eswatini’s business minded youth to apply for funding from the Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF).
Youth Fund applications were opened for the third phase of lending at the beginning of the month and will close on September 30 2019.
The Youth Fund offers business loan opportunities to EmaSwati aged 35 and under, up to a maximum of E150 000.
“During the recent International Trade Fair at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre, we had two young entrepreneurs who have benefitted from the YERF selling their products at the Fund’s stand.
“It is pleasing to see young EmaSwati benefitting from this Fund which was commissioned for their development.
I therefore encourage all those young EmaSwati who have that entrepreneurial drive to apply before the closing date of 30 September,” he said.
The minister further encouraged the youth to be daring in their business proposals.
“While we accept all sound business proposals, we encourage our young people to be highly innovative. We want our youth to look into the future with their proposals.
The most important thing to note is that the Fund doesn’t just turn down applications; we go a step further to provide guidance in terms of what the applicant can do to improve their application for the future.
So, young people should go to their respective Tinkhundla Centres or visit the YERF website to access the application form and apply before month end,” he concluded.
Youth Fund application forms can also be accessed from Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) Headquarters in Manzini.
