TEVIN CAMPBELL COMING TO ESWATINI!

AMERICAN award-winning artist Tevin Campell is coming to Eswatini on August 3.

The ‘Can we talk’ hitmaker is scheduled to perform at the inaugural Eswatini International Music Festival which will be held at Hawane Resort.

 According to a press statement

forwarded to the Entertainment Desk yesterday, Tevin Campell will be sharing the stage with the likes of The Rockets, South African reggae and RnB musician Dr Victor and Rasta Rebels.

“Tevin Campbell is coming for the Eswatini International Music Festival set on the backdrop of Malolotja Mountains to croon his evergreen hits ‘Can we talk, ‘I’m Ready’. Just as you remember his sultry voice, you will experience a smorgasbord of musical jams between Tevin, The Rockets, Dr Victor, local  musicians amidst food stalls, beer tents, kids entertainment zones and more,” confirmed Eswatini Global Events’ Mpumi Mdlalose who is the local front of the festival.’

 A wide variety of  music, according to the press statement, will the order of the day at the festival. Fun and music fanatics are advised to book for their tickets at Computicket or Galitos outlets.

 Tevin Campbell, an American singer, songwriter and actor was born in Waxahachie, Texas; according to his biography, he displayed a passion for singing at a very early age, performing gospel song in his local church. Following an audition for a famous jazz musician, Bobbi Humprey, in 1988, Campbell was signed to Warner Bros. Records. Campbell performed during a concert at B.B. King's Blues Club and Grill in New York themed ‘An Evening with Tevin Campbell’ and he received positive reviews.

 It was officially announced that he was working on a new album with collaborations from producer Teddy Riley, singer Faith Evans and rapper T-Pain.

Campbell has performed at several festivals, such as the 2014 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

The performance garnered great reviews.  Fast forward, early  in March in a surprising video post on social media, Tevin revealed that he will appear on season four of OWN's television scripted drama Queen Sugar, while on the show's production set, teasing his followers without giving away too much information quoting "...stay tuned to...SEASON 4 BABY!"

This news comes after months of planning from director Ava DuVernay to add Campbell on the show, as a way to rebuke slander of Campbell's name from the millennial generation.

 In the video, Tevin thanks her for keeping her word and also thank the cast and crew for making him feel at home.
