SPPRA, MANANGA SIGN MOU

By Mhlengi Magongo | 2018-08-16

THE Swaziland Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (SPPRA) has partnered with Mananga Management Centre for Regional Integration and Management Development to train professionals and professional bodies on procurement.

Both entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday. The entities were represented by SPPRA CEO Madoda Mngometulu and Mananga’s Head of Marketing Collin Kamalizeni.

Mananga is one of the institutions which will assist SPPRA to catalyse public procurement reform.

“It is important for us to partner with Mananga because they are an institution which has a strong presence in the Kingdom of Eswatini and across the region, and it is cited by many leaders and professionals as a trusted institution to address their learning and development needs,” said the SPPRA CEO, registering his institution’s intention of professionalising procurement in Eswatini.

Kamalizeni said Mananga’s experience in the training of procurement staff in the country and the entire SADC region goes a long way.

“As a fully accredited institution, we commit to continue offering professional programmes in the field of procurement, thus ensuring that the course remains relevant,” he said.

Kamalizeni said they were looking forward to a solid relationship with SPPRA and to producing procurement specialists who will fuel the country’s economic development.
