KING LEAVES IN NEW STATE JET FOR ANGOLA

Just a few days after celebrating his 50th birthday and celebrating 50 years of independence, His Majesty yesterday jetted out of the country in the brand new state jet to Angola.

He will attend the Double Troika Summit scheduled for today. His Majesty left in the company of Inkhosikati LaMahlangu and other members of the royal family as well as government officials.  The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will today convene a double Troika Summit of the Heads of State and Government in Luanda. 

The summit will comprise heads of state or representatives from South Africa, Namibia, the Kingdom of Eswatini, Angola, Zambia and Tanzania. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will also attend as the SADC chairperson, while Namibia’s President, Hage Geingob is the community’s deputy chairperson. According to reports, Zimbabwe will be on the agenda of the summit where the aim is to assess the situation and evaluate the consolidation of democracy in the region.

 The statement stated that the summit would also pay attention to Lesotho.
