ACASWA ORDERS MEMBERS TO COMPOSE 50/50 SONGS

By Lusito Tsela | 2018-04-17

THE Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA) has urged members to compose 50/50 songs.

According to the association’s PRO Ronnie Dlamini, Apostle Vusi Maculuve has already composed a song for the historical event titled ‘50 years’ akusiwo umdlalo.’

“Our King is celebrating 50 years, and the country is also celebrating 50 years of independence which is a huge thing also to the artists because they have to come up with songs that will last a lifetime.

The 50/50 double celebrations will only come once which is why our artists need to be seen taking part.

As an association, we commend our secretary Apostle Maculuve for taking the initiative and showing that this is a historical moment in the country’s history and coming up with a powerful song hence we call upon our artists to follow suit,” he said.

Dlamini continued, “We also want to take this opportunity as a gospel fraternity to say happy independence to the country and we pray that our God continue to protect and guide the nation, for the peace we are experiencing to last a lifetime. As gospel artists we also want to say ‘Bayethe wena waphakathi’, we wish you all the best and we pray that God continues to bless you. Dlamini praised the government’s efforts of ensuring that there is change in the arts industry, especially after enacting the Copyright Bill into an Act.

Dlamini further urged the nation to continue supporting artists as that also helps in reducing the high rate of unemployment in the country as a lot of artists earn a living through music.

Dlamini also reminded gospel music lovers that the ‘Uvukile Gospel Festival’ will be held at the Metropolitan Evangelical Church in Manzini on May 5.

He encouraged gospel lovers to come in their numbers as they will be treated to the best night of gospel music.
