NONHLEâ€™S YOUNGER SISTER OKUHLE RELEASES ALBUM

LIKE USA’s Jada Pinket and Will Smith, Amazing and Mabandla Mthethwa do not mind putting their children under the spotlight.

In fact, the Mthethwa’s strongly believe what they are instilling in their three daughters; they will never depart from them.

After their first born daughter’s success in the music industry, they have aided their second born daughter in recording and releasing her debut project.

Eight year old Okuhle Mthethwa now has an album under her belt titled ‘Sakhululwa’ which was recorded in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In the five track album the youngster has Dr Rebecca Malope’s backup singers doing the same for her. The album has already been made available for retail in most music shops including Mgavuza outlets, selling for E50. The youngster debuted her singing abilities at the Swazi Mobile Umlilo Crossover held at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre during her sister’s (Nonhle) performance.

Their father Mabandla Mthethwa said he was amazed at how Okuhle has been getting bookings in South Africa more than in Swaziland.

“She has just performed in two God Never Fails (GNF) branches in South Africa and has already scooped a booking for the Easter’s at Moses Mabhida Stadium where the church (GNF) will host their Easter services.

Both Mthethwa sisters (Nonhle and Okuhle) will be performing.

According to their father, Okuhle’s performance at the largely attended service will function as her launch into the South African music industry.

The Mthethwa family has been subjected to negative criticism over the years especially after Nonhle released her debut album at age seven.

However, they believe what they are doing is mainly raising their children in a way they will not depart from. “Other religions teach their children the way of life and even business from a very young age hence we are not by any chance abusing our daughters but simply teaching them the way they should go,” he clarified. Both Mabandla and his wife Amazing are musicians in their own right.

Amazing has released a number of albums whilst Mabandla has been a keyboard player and producer for the better part of his music career.

It is no surprise when all three of their daughters are on stage, singing their lungs out and dancing just like the parents, it runs in the family. The third and youngest member of the family is named Akahle.
