An outpouring of community support has resulted in weighty contributions towards the funeral of Senzo Gondwe.

According to Instacash MD and long-time friend Mandla “Cheeks” Nxumalo, E8 000 was sent to the Gondwe family towards food and logistics just yesterday, while the day prior,the family was able to pay E15 700 which covered all transportation and burial expenses.

This brings the total amount collected from the public to E23 700.
“I was short of words yesterday, I don’t know how I feel today,” said Nxumalo when providing the update.
Senzo Gondwe, a former player for Mhlume United, passed away on Saturday, nearly 20 years after a life-altering car accident in 2005.

The accident in 2005 resulted in severe head and pelvic injuries and multiple internal organ damages, including a fractured pelvic bone and chronic pain which he endured since then.

Even when he suffered immensely due to his accident, Nxumalo was instrumental in trying his best to secure the operation that ultimately improved Senzo's livelihood, actively asking for donations from the public to make it happen.
