COACHES TIP BUCS TO PIP BIRDS

By Mgcini Dube | 2025-03-10

Soccer - As the highly anticipated Ingwenyama Cup Knockout Tournament semi-finals draw closer, local football coaches have backed Moneni Pirates as favourites to reach the final.
However, predictions remain uncertain for the forces derby between Royal Leopard and Young Buffaloes.

Mavuso Sports Centre is set to host thrilling encounters this weekend, with Moneni Pirates welcoming Mbabane Swallows, while Royal Leopard clashes with their fierce cross-town rivals, Young Buffaloes.

The sports desk conducted interviews with various local coaches, who pointed out Moneni Pirates' impressive form and the strategic influence of their coaching staff.

Meanwhile, they highlighted Swallows' struggles with consistency, which may hinder their chances. However, when it came to predicting the outcome of the forces derby, opinions were divided.
Gcina Dlamini (Illovo FC Coach):

“I might have a soft spot for Moneni, but I personally think they have all it takes to go all the way. I have watched them play, and they are convincing enough.
The forces derby, however, is going to be a matter of which team performs best on the day.”

Musa Manyatsi (Ezulwini United Coach):
“Royal Leopard will make it through; they have shown remarkable resilience. They gave us a tough time and their victory over us only strengthened their confidence. In the forces derby, it will be a tactical battle.”

Ernest Mavuso (Green Mamba Coach):
“I won’t lie to you—only the full 90 minutes will determine the finalists. At this stage, it’s tricky. What I am certain of is that it won’t be an easy game for either side.”

Former Rangers Coach Sihle Mavimbela:
“Swallows have been struggling. The exodus of key players and other factors have contributed to their instability.

That’s why I believe Moneni Pirates will go all the way. As for the forces derby, Edwin Matsebula has been with both teams, so winning would be a great achievement for him.

Young Buffaloes, on the other hand, have been refreshing their squad, and they will need something special to secure a victory.”

With differing opinions and high expectations, all eyes will be on Mavuso Sports Centre as these four formidable teams battle for a spot in the Ingwenyama Cup final.
Football fans can expect nothing short of a thrilling and unpredictable weekend of action.
