SOCCER - THE country’s top-flight league will this weekend return with some mouth-watering clashes.
This comes after the league took a two-week break to give way due to the Ingwenyama Cup knockout tournament which is now in the quarterfinals stage.
This weekend will see the start of the second round. Week 14 fixtures promise to bring excitement as teams return to the pitch to continue their quest for the title or to avoid relegation.
Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) acting CEO Petros ‘Pat’ Vilakati confirmed that the league would resume this coming weekend.
resuming
“We are resuming league games this weekend and the fixture will be released in due course,” he said. There will be seven matches in the elite league as the teams begin the second round in what they hope will be a successful tilt at the title in May.
Most teams have several new arrivals in their camps and fans cannot wait to see what they can offer inside the field of play.
According to the master fixture, the headlining match of the round will see army side Young Buffaloes take on Nsingizini Hotspurs.
This is not an easy task for the Shiselweni-based ensemble and it will be a test of their championship ambitions this campaign.
Crowd pullers Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows will play against Royal Leopard and Manzini Sea Birds, respectively.
Other matches will see Moneni Pirates take on Sidvwashini United while Madlenya will face-off with Illovo.
Green Mamba have a date with Sisonkhe while Ezulwini United will clash with Rangers.
Meanwhile, Royal Leopard won the first round carrot of E100 000.
