‘WE WILL BEAT ROYAL LEOPARD’

By XOLISILE SACOLO | 2025-01-23

SOCCER - GREEN MAMBA head coach Ernest Mavuso said  he was certain that they will win Saturday’s Ingwenyama Cup clash against Royal Leopard.

He said they would advance to the next round.
Mavuso said this during a media briefing held at Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF) yesterday.

The two sides will meet on Saturday at Mayaluka Stadium in a security forces derby.
Mavuso expressed his determination to secure a victory against Royal Leopard, highlighting his team's preparedness and confidence ahead of the match.

“Royal Leopard have improved a lot and they have been scoring goals, which means they are dangerous. We will not undermine them. We will go all out as we want to defend our title.

This is a knockout tournament and at this stage someone has to go home.
I am pretty sure that we are not the ones to exit this tournament. We will do everything to beat Royal Leopard and proceed to the next stage,” he said.

Mavuso said as defending champions, they were under pressure to go all the way in this tournament.

The former Mbabane Highlanders mentor appreciated the sponsor and he urged all supporters to adhere to SMVA rules and avoid accidents.

On the other hand, Royal Leopard head coach Edwin Matsebula responded with firm belief that they would play in the next stage of this tournament.

“I do not want to say much, but what I can tell you is that we will be playing in the quarter-finals of the Ingwenyama Cup.”

Matsebula said preparations were going well and they were sure of getting positive results.
“The tournament has not favoured us for a long time and we now have a chance to turn the misfortune, to good results,” he said.

Meanwhile, Green Mamba captain Sabelo 'Skhali' Ndzinisa said, preparations for the game were going well.

“Our wish is to win against our opponents and progress to another stage. We can only promise to give it our all in the field of play,” he said.

Royal Leopard captain Muzi ' Mzoro' Dlamini said they wanted to protect the image of the team.
“We urge our supporters to come to come in numbers as we will make them happy and should not drink and drive,” said Dlamini.

This clash promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams motivated and ready to give it their all in the pitch.
