SOLDIER PAYS 16 COWS AS LOBOLA FOR UEDF PRO

By Siphosethu Dlamini | 2025-01-19

Lance Corporal Mndeni Dlamini yesterday expressed his seven years of love for his fiancé, the spokesperson of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF), Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo,  by paying 16 cattle to the Khumalo family.

The event took place at the bride's parental home at Ntontozi and was attended by Prince Bandzile, who represented Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, along with royal family members, friends, and relatives.

The cattle was valued at E140 000, with 14 cattle being presented as cash at E10 000 each. The remaining two were live cows referred to as lugege and Insula Mnyembeti.

Pastor Madudu Mabuza prepared the couple for their journey together by sharing a message from the book of Proverbs 3:5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

He encouraged the couple that there would be challenges in their marriage, and that there might be times where felt like they made a mistake being together. However, he reassured them that if they trust in the Lord and seek His help, everything would be well.

Mabuza reminded them that their union would face trials, including lies from others, witchcraft, and feelings of neediness, but by submitting their ways to God, they would overcome.

Prince Bandzile echoed Pastor Mabuza's sentiments by reading Proverbs 18:22: "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord."

He advised Dlamini that now that he had found a wife, it meant he had received  favour from God.

“In all times, seek His favour, even during challenges. Just as the Bible says that even birds do not feed themselves and sometimes go a day without knowing what they will eat tomorrow, but God provides.

You should seek God for answers in every challenge you face," said the prince Expressing gratitude for the support he received, the groom, Mndeni Dlamini, stated; “I am at a loss for words for the support everyone has shown.

I would also like to thank Their Majesties for gracing this event as we could not have done it without their presence.”

Dlamini emphasised that Tengetile Khumalo proved her worthiness to be his wife during the difficult times when he fell ill.

He revealed that she cared for him when he was unable to bathe or feed himself, supporting him as a girlfriend long before they became husband and wife. The audience was entertained by Pastor Elias Shongwe of Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group.
