‘GET US ALLY’

By MGCINI DUBE | 2024-12-21

SOCCER - A cry for help!
With uncertainty in the Black Bull’s kraal over their unsteady relationship with Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe, the capital city giants’ patrons have sought assistance from the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), specifically the PLE EXCO.

Mbabane Highlanders people have asked the football office to facilitate a meeting with their director over the current rigmarole in the club.

This comes after their sworn-rivals, Mbabane Swallows also ran to the PLE, in a bid to sort out issues of this nature. The PLE Executive Committee, led by Polycarp ‘Phoseka' Dlamini worked tirelessly and finally resolved the issues, which saw Swallows continuing with their activities smoothly.

Kgomongwe has not been in the country for over three months now after a certain faction tried to push him out of the club.

A source close to the matter confirmed that the two aforementioned parties indeed met, where they discussed the director's issue, among others. It was not clear what the final decision taken was.

Requested
"Mbabane Highlanders patrons had initially requested a meeting with the PLE, which they were granted.

It is reported that at the top of the list was their request for assistance with facilitating a meeting with their Director, Chief Ally Kgomongwe about his future with the team. The PLE listened to the submissions and further revealed their concerns as the PLE,” revealed the source.

PLE acting CEO Petros ‘Pat’ Vilakati confirmed that they met with the patrons and discussed different issues.

"We met with the patrons, but I am not in a position to reveal contents of the deliberations because there was no decision taken.

A lot was talked about in the meeting; we also shared with them our concerns, which we believe will be attended to.

Once everything is finalised, we will communicate the resolution taken,’’ he said.
Highlanders Patrons Chairman Thembinkosi Mamba remained diplomatic in his response, stating that they only met to discuss certain problems in the club, but politely asked not to disclose anything because the deliberations were still ongoing.

discussed
"I can only confirm that we met, and we discussed a lot of issues.
I cannot reveal however, what was disscussed because we have to finalise everything first,’’ he said.

Kgomongwe said he was already aware that the patrons went to PLE.
“I do not want to say much for now. Let us see what will eventually happen after their meeting with the PLE. They know  where to find me,” he said.
