SOCCER - HARDlY a month at the helm, National First Division outfit CK Survivors have parted ways with their coach Mduduzi ‘Nyama’ Shongwe.
According to reports, the well -travelled mentor has not returned to training after he lost one of the matches, prompting management to look for another coach.
CK Survivors Director Chicco Kunene confirmed the latest developments.
“I can confirm that our ‘short marriage’ with Nyama has come to an end. Something wrong happened during our match against Sundowns. I tried to engage him but he did not show up at training until today. At the moment we are still looking for his replacement.”
Kunene said they would bounce back as a team.
“It is only a matter of getting things in order; otherwise we will start winning games. “We are hoping our injured players will recover soon.”
The Zakhele-based outfit will play against Pigg’s Peak Rangers in their upcoming fixture.
Meanwhile, Shongwe preferred not to say anything regarding his departure.
“Since I am no longer with them, I prefer not to comment. I think Kunene is the better person to comment,” he said.
The CAF License B holder has coached several teams in the country, including Moneni Pirates, Manzini Wanderers, Denver Sundowns, Tambankulu Callies and the defunct Tambuti .
