By NOKUPHILA HJI | 2024-11-26

National Commissioner of Police Manoma Vusi Masango has opened his door for talks with junior officers regarding the most talked about Phase II salary restructuring for junior officers.

He said junior officers who feel  the issue of Phase II was not being correctly addressed, should pay him a visit him so that they could reach common ground.

NatCom commented on Phase II when making his remarks after Motshane Member of Parliament (MP) Wilton Nkambule introduced Mayiwane MP Sicelo Dlamini as the MP who is ever vocal about the issue of implementing Phase II for junior officers.

Masango said police were meant to help the public even if there were problems. He said where they were not seeing eye-to-eye; the leadership of the police service was always available to engage with the officers.

He said the issue of Phase II was being looked into but urged the police to address it the right way.

He said government was also working on the issue, revealing that they also wanted it to end, as a result a consultant had been engaged.

Ask
“We ask that government and the consultant be given time to work on the issue until the end.
“Those who think that the issue is not being correctly addressed, let them visit the national commissioner, he is ready to listen to them,” he said.

Masango said people should not be used since there were those who were removing others in their line of duty. He said the police should pray against defiance.
