SOCCER – Former Rangers head coach Mthunzi Ginindza says his prime objective is to help Mbabane Highlanders reclaim their ‘Big Team’ status in the country.
The former Manzini Wanderers assistant head coach said this after his official unveiling at Ezulwini Sport Ground yesterday. Ginindza was unveiled alongside Ezulwini United physical trainer Christian Thwala who has been appointed for the same position at the black and white outfit.
He also promised to make Highlanders management proud although it was bit tough for him to reveal his prime goal since it was his first day in the team.
“We will sit down after accessing the players and see where we are going. This is big team, it deserve to be in the top four bracket. We are going to work hard and get the result. I am seeing some great talent here. I believe we will work together as a technical bench and see the gaps and make some few additions,” he said.
Introducing the duo to the players, Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Kenneth Dlamini said both coaches were a familiar face in the beautiful game and they were the right candidates to fill up these posts.
“We will give them the respect they deserve like the other coaches who have coached the team. Let us all work on leaving a mark in the team. We welcome them in the team.
There were a number of names to take this position, but we selected Ginindza for his vast experience as a seasoned coach and we have seen his job in other clubs. We believe in him and we also believe that his hard work will take us far. It is our prayer that he brings the club’s status back,” he said.
He stated that Ginindza needs their assistance, saying they will not push him to much. “I believe all Highlanders supporters will also make him the best coach he can be and give him a chance, let us all bear with him. He is going to deliver,” added Dlamini.
