TANDZISILE CROWNED MISS TEEN SHISELWENI

TANDZIsiLE Shongwe is the new Miss Teen Shiselweni.

In the crowning event hosted on Saturday, Miss Teen Public Relations Officer Khetsiwe Mabuza said they saw much improvement compared to the previous  year.

The event was held at Shingili Plaas restaurant in Nhlangano.

Mabuza revealed that Tandzisile Shongwe scooped the crown with Ntsandvoyenkhosi Dlamini and Ndlela Nompendulo being first and second princesses, respectively.

Mabuza said the judges Mbonisi Ngcamphalala, Zinhle Xaba and Asiah Ranjah had a hard time when they had to break a tie.

 “Thanks to the finalists and their parents who allowed them to join the beauty pageant and further supported them throughout their journey.

We also would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our partners and sponsors,” she said.

The partners of the crowning event were Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), Esinamandla Entertainment and Promotions agency, DeAskens Projects, Oukitel Eswatini, On Point castings international, Teeya’s Boutique, Esinamandla visuals, Nkosi Crotchety. The event was attended by  ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini who in his remarks mentioned that the society needs women to be leaders and they must be confident to do that.

“Beauty pageant does play a major role in boosting one’s confidence. “Parents should allow their children to join beauty pageants,” said Dlamini.

He also stated that all the finalists had qualified for Miss Teen Eswatini with more details about the pageant to be shared in due course. He mentioned that the newly-crowned title holders had a lot of work lined up.

Their first stop would be the Shiselweni tour and document the miss teen. “We therefore request  partnerships and sponsorship to make this a success,” he said. Oukitel Eswatini Marketing Executive Esihle Dlamini said it was a beautiful event and they were happy with what they witnessed.

“We were impressed by the turnout, it was a beautiful event. “However, I feel  they were not fully ready, as we noted that they struggled with some of the questions.

Some questions were a bit tough for their age,” she stated.
