IT was a busy Monday for Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini as he visited four institutions during a familiarisation tour.
These included the Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) offices and properties in Mbabane.
The PSPF is a Category A parastatal under the ministry of public service.
The PM’s tour, according to a press statement released by government acting Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli, commenced at the PSPF’s Ingcamu Building where he met with the Chief Executive Officer Masotja Vilakati, his executive and the PSPF Board of Trustees chaired by Sammy Dlamini.
The tour then proceeded to the new PSPF apartments in Mbabane which are near completion and in which the parastatal invested about E124 million.
The premier was then led on a tour of the former ESASCCO building in Mbabane where PSPF has invested about E450 million.
“The building is currently being converted into a premium office building complex and it is expected to be completed by 2025 and to be ready for occupation by January 2026,” said Mdluli. It was stated that the nation should be proud of PSPF for taking over the ESASCCO building and working towards its completion.
“Upon completion, it will be an iconic building in the capital city,” reads the press statement.
Addressing the PSPF, Dlamini congratulated the organisation for the work they were doing and challenged the executive and Board of Trustees to ensure that it remained the premier organisation that it is.
Invest
He further encouraged the institution to invest more in the country, applauding the institution for having at least 45 per cent local investments.
Dlamini further invited the institution to be part of an Investment Indaba that was being spearheaded by the ministry of commerce, industry and trade where businesses that will invest over E1bn in new and innovative initiatives.
He also urged PSPF to consider partnerships and possible investments in the areas of aviation, rail, energy and mining.
During the tour, minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko was also present.
